When the local computer is put on standby, the remote computer still
sees it online. It's not really online, it'sobviously an artifact and
when the remote computer tries to contact the local computer (still
sleeping), it then receives an error message.
The status is not changed from online to off
And auto-away is similarly broken, the status is never changed from
online to away or whatever if the computer is left unattended. This is
also a cause of confusion for the other users.

Ubuntu being based on Debian, I've tried "testing" (aka squeeze). The
good news is that it works without a glitch, the bad one is that I am
switching all our production systems to Debian.
