Public bug reported:
When switching from english to romanian deskbar-applet does not work
anymore (still in the panel, and I can still write things in it but
nothing works - neither preferences setting or About...). When switching
back to English, everything works fine. Thank you.

Indeed, pressing Alt and clicking in the window works as a workaround.
It would be nice if someone could patch this.

Same problem for me. I have an external USB drive with a fat and a
hfsplus partition. In addition, the hfsplus partition is mounted read-
only (I'll look if this bug was already reported).

After 4 hours of laborious search I finally found why the hfsplus
partition was mounted read-only. Due to the bug we discuss here,
unmounting does create problems on the hfsplus partition which becomes
readable only on the next mount. Manual unmounting does not help either.
Under these conditions,
I can confirm this annoying error message that appeared on my Fujitsu-
Siemens Amilo Si1520 after upgrading to Feisty and the 2.6.20-15 kernel.
I hope someone will find a solution. On an ArchLinux wiki a workaround
is indicated (http://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Fujitsu-
Siemens_Amilo_Pro_V3205):
Just in case it might give someone an idea about the bug, I've copied
the dmesg output before and after siwtching on-off the bluetooth/wi-fi
button. Indeed, that will stop the 'ugly' connect-debounce message.

Hi fraktalek,
It looks like switching off and then on the wifi can solve (temporarily)
the problem. It means that at the end the wifi connection is on, I'm
sorry I was not very clear in my previous post. Please take a look at
your dmesg output before and after doing the switching on and off for

A solution that involves minimal hacks, but applies to individual apps
one by one is to change the XDG_CURRENT_DESKTOP variable only when
launching the problematic programs.
For Kate, for example:
1. Copy the .desktop file (in Ubuntu 17.04, with XFCE, I also have KDE Plasma
installed):
> cp /usr
I don't think this bug is specific to the Ubuntu version of Thunderbird,
as I can see it as well on MacOS X (TB 38.7). The bugzilla site could
benefit from a link to this bug as it has both an example and a
screenshot to show the problem.

It is really a strange bug and probably very hard to solve since there
is no clear way to reproduce it. I had exactly the same problem (mostly

For Linux users who will have difficulties in downgrading to Inkscape 0.48, you
can install the Windows version with PlayOnLinux/Wine:

Files impossible to open with 0.92 work perfectly well with this 0.48.5 build.
