I was able to get the installation to complete with the Wacom tablet
removed. However, I did see the screen start to blank and hit a button
to get it back. The installation finished and prompted me to restart.
At this point, I removed the CD and rebooted, and was greeted with the
new Intrepid log
I completed another successful install with the Wacom tablet unplugged
and without touching anything to verify that the screen blanking was not
involved. I then shut it down after logging into the new system and
verifying there were no errors and shut it down. I plugged the Wacom
tablet back in a

I've only been able to get the initial crash without Banshee open to

I have seen the 'freezing' problem frequently on a Thinkpad T42 with a
Radeon 9600 Mobility card (64MB) when desktop effects are enabled and
when using the 'ati' driver. The output of lspci -vn is attached.
Strangely enough, I have not seen the problem on my desktop, which has a
Radeon 9600 XT car

Alexander, I don't see anything related at first glance in
/var/log/syslog. I also have some archived syslog.0 files that I can
take a look at. What should I be looking for? I was directed to this

Hardy beta comes with (at the moment) 0.7.9.8. I just installed it
today and the mouse wheel on my Graphire 4 is scrolling properly - down
is down, and up is up. It was inverted when I had Gusty. Can anyone
else confirm that it is fixed with their model?

Confirm on a Thinkpad T42, kernel 2.6.20-16-generic on Feisty -
hibernating the system and then resuming results in a loss of sound.
This is still the case after rebooting. If I shut it down, and start it
back up, it works fine. I tested the HIBERNATE_MODE=platform change
that others have suggest
I already updated my desktop to 10.04 without the Wacom tablet plugged
in. Has anyone else on this bug tried the install with the tablet
plugged in?

I have a IBM Thinkpad T42 with an ATI card. I edited the grub.cfg file
by hand to remove the offending lines from within a Live session. I
then fixed the defaults and updated grub file per the instructions
above. It was still fixed after a reboot.

This also happens to me. I have compositing enabled and don't use
suspend or hibernate. I do, however, constantly save my sessions. It
seems to work fine when I start up the browser and is broken right now.
I'll try to keep an eye on it and see if the screensaver is related on

have screen blanking enabled. The address bar was working before I left
and was broken again when I returned. It looks like it is trying to
show up, as I can see the list display for a fraction of a second, but
it disappears
