This would be about getting the volume, brightness, etc notifications to

Currently the notifications will work when using the Human theme, but

but these haven't been a part of a libdrm release. Furthermore, this
error only affects DRI, which is aggressively unsupported upstream

For nv5x+ chips, into which class your 9800 falls, nouveau currently
only does EXA and Xv acceleration when using a composite manager. Do
you have a composite manager running? Metacity, kwin, (with compositing
enabled) or xcompgr are appropriate. Without that, you won't have
XVideo or EXA accele

gnome-do uses mono-addins. This will be fixed in the next upstream

It's 100% reproducible; just select the folder properties of the phantom
folder - you can see it in the screenshot I posted, it's the selected
folder with no name.
I haven't yet had time to investigate the presence of that phantom
folder, though. This is a brand-new Jaunty netinst install as of t
libdrm-nouveau1.symbols specifies libdrm2 as its dependant package,
rather than libdrm-nouveau1. This means that xserver-xorg-video-nouveau
fails to get a dependency on libdrm-nouveau1.

initramfs forcibly loads the i915 driver before pretty much anything
else happens. This loads the drm module from the initramfs, which isn't

based on 2.6.31-rc3. Booting back into the -2-generic kernel exhibits
the corruption, booting into 2.6.31-3-generic doesn't, even when running
the LVDS at 60Hz.
