Public bug reported: The current Intrepid kernel, 2.6.27-2-generic, my Asus laptop fails to boot when on battery power. Booting with "acpi=off" on battery power works, as does booting with the laptop plugged in to power.
On battery my laptop halts fairly early in the boot process - the last thing printed with the 'quiet' option is "kernel really alive", and I've attached a photo of the output once the boot has halted without the quiet option. The 2.6.27-1 kernel boots fine on battery. This laptop had a the reverse problem some time in the Hardy cycle - it would fail to boot when plugged in to AC without "acpi=off". I can't seem to find the bug report there. ** Affects: linux (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- Fails to boot when not on AC https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/264986 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
