I've just acquired an Asus Eee Box (B202) and after some investigation found
this bug.
Doing the fix described in the upstream suggestion fixes this problem and my
LCD monitor is correctly identified via the DVI connection.

Installer fails on partition setup and shows wrong
I downloaded the Mythbuntu Alpha 5, and the text is now correct.
It did complain about the XFS partition, stating it would not know about
the change until the next reboot. Unfortunately I was running the
installer from boot, not from within the Live environment, so did not
get the exact error.

I've moved to Ubuntu 8.10, and the resolution is selected correctly.
However, there is a weird artifact when using the Monitor Resolution Settings
utility.

Using Ubuntu 8.10. Now it simply errors out before writing to the blank disk.
I hear the drive spin up, then the error occurs and I'm prompted to make
another copy or close the dialogue.
Bug 283316 might be compounding this, so I'm waiting for that to be fixed
before doing another test.

I decided to see what happens with a normal install of ubuntu (8.10), with no
patches.
I installed the nvidia-180-modaliases and had the Restricted Drivers Manager
give me the nvidia 180 driver option.
After that was done, I rebooted and the login prompt appears.
I get the plain brown background
Experiencing this in 8.04.1. The audio CD copy doesn't work in a normal CD
player, but can be read as an audio CD by Rhythmbox 0.11.5.
k3b 1.0.4 has the same problem, I assume it's also using cdrdao.
Tried GnomeBaker 0.6.2 which worked, and the log displays indicates wodim is

I found I can trigger the bug while simply being in the Live environment.
I can switch to the console (Ctrl+Alt+F2), but when I switch back to X

The quirk comment should make reference to "Asus Eee Box B202", as Asus do
market it separately from the Eee PC, even though it's part of the same line.

I just had the same problem on a default Ubuntu 13.10 install.
I have an HP LaserJet P1102 that worked on Ubuntu 12.10.
On 13.10 the test page would print but no applications would print. The
job would be stuck in the queue.
After unplugging and plugging the printer a few times with no success,

sudo ethtool -s eth0 speed 100 duplex full
and the link came up. I did this well after signing on and was using wifi.
This is the first time I have used this ethernet controller with a
gigabit network, normally I use the laptop with wifi.
