Hi, I have the same Problem with Ubuntu 10.04.
It worked perfectly for me with Ubuntu 9.04, when I closed the lid it went
into suspend, though It might have been a problem with hibernate, I don't
remember though I did not use it and it is my girlfriends computer and she
wanted to use suspend...
Additionally if I set it to be a black screen when the lid is closed it always
flickers as described in the first post.
And to add to my own comment, the thing about it shows the login screen after a
normal "menu suspend" just when I move the mouse, it also pops up if I press
any key.

I do not disconnect when i get this nl_recvmsgs() error: (-33) Dump
inconsistency detected, interrupted.
but I can see that a lot of them hapen on the same second(not minute).
I checked the wifisyslog.txt that was attached to this bug and it is
also occurring at the same second most of the times
After I upgraded to kernel 3.13 I have not had this "
nl_recvmsgs() error: (-33) Dump inconsistency detected, interrupted"
problem any more. I am now using 3.14 and it also works great.
So see if it works for you too.
BTW after changing kernel from 3.11 to 3.13 and 3.14 I max out my internet
Should not this bug be set to Importance: High?
Everyone is affected by it, it's just that most of the users will not know it
before they lose all what they have written.
Using a office suite that can at any time, with a little bad luck, erase all
you have written is not a reliable office suite
