This is a LAN hardware issue. I fixed it updating the LAN boot software
to version 12.4
You have to download form Intel the PROBOOT.exe and execute it to get some

I am having the same problem in my thinkpad T60 which has an ATI Mobility
Radeon X1300 card.
The problem has happened to me three times and only after the upgrade to the
2.6.24-19-generic kernel in Hardy.
Now I am working again only under the 2.6.24-18-generic kernel. I am not
totally sure yet

My Kubuntu 8.10 is just installed, updated, localized to Spain/Spanish

Alpha5 release to burn the LiveCD. I will test the 2.6.26 kernel too which I

The same problem still exist in jaunty beta. No connection with dhcp via
NetworkManager. I have to stop NetworkManager from starting at boot and
manually type dhclient to connect.
