According to: https://answers.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+question/68456
disabling visual effects solves the problem. I guess my graphical card is not as good enough as to suppport compiz, so gnome default, metacity, is the right choice. Anyway it seems other users still have the problem even disabling visual effects (see link above). Maybe installation should perform a better effort in setting the default window manager, in my case it should have been metacity instead of compiz. Compiz is cute, but fully functional behavior is more important. Besides, when the user upgrades visual effects, a warning or information message about possible problems (based on graphical card capabilities) will increase user reliability on the system. -- Screen flickering with Firefox full screen https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/366017 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
