I just tested the "blacklist=nouveau modprobe.blacklist=nouveau" and the "nouveau.modeset=0" separately and both of them the machine booted off the USB stick. I had a live image running 4.12 kernel so I will test today's images (with 4.13 kernel) and report back. Here is my dmidecode just in case
