Ok, I think I understand why this regression has appeared. It looks
very much that the hardy kernels are not correctly finding and booting
the second cpus on AMD x2. This appears to have been separatly reported
under bug #213011, which was FIX_COMMITTED _only_ in Intrepid.

I converted an ext3 filesystem to ext4 and later upgraded my Jaunty
install which gave me a new kernel. The new kernel is not bootable grub
thinks the block list for the file exceeds the paritition boundaries.
Old kernels work just fine still.

Debugging this we have found that grub is getting the block numbers
wrong.
vmlinuz-2.6.28-8-generic is the older good kerne, grub block dumpl:

Yep. The patch which introduced this warning has been upstreamed in a
different form. It is probabally logical to revert our version of this
fix and pull out the upstream version. Will check into it.

So swe know that the udev side is all fine as you can use the UUID
correctly. We are somehow missing the configuration information from
the conf/conf.d/resume file.
Could you:
1) attach the whole of your initrd
2) attach cat /proc/cmdline from a normal boot

Ok I have pulled this change down and applied it to our Jaunty kernel.

Ok I have managed to hit the same issue here. There is definatly a tie
in between a kernel update disabling suspend, an attempt to suspend, and
a subsequent reboot. Will look at this interaction.
