I installed Half-Life2 under WINE, ran it, and when it was about to
finish the loading screen it took me to Ubuntu's login screen. So it

Just did some more looking around on my graphics chipset. I saw these
two mentioned:
Intel® Graphics Media Accelerator X4500HD (Intel® GMA X4500HD)
Intel® G45 Express Chipset
I have no idea on the difference between the two. Anyway here's Intel's

Well, it's not forcing a logout on Karmic. The game is refusing to
start.
The partition I made for OS testing isn't large enough for Half-Life 2
and I'm not sure if other games will cause the same crash. Lemme
install StarCraft or something to my Jaunty partition and let me get

kubuntux's does not (although the true transparency is good news).
I thought Tilda was only dependent on libconfuse (which was pretty much
an independent library).

I don't see why not, Janne. I don't think the dependencies changed and
it's just a fix in the code.
They must be busy crossing the i's and dotting the t's of the core
packages or else they would have fixed this by now.

I'm sure this is a matter of poorly edited config files.
When Ubuntu dropped Enlightenment Sound there were lots of holes left
over and this is one of them.
Has the GDM sound been fixed yet? That should be an easy fix since the
only issue was that the sound file wasn't selected.

I tried to remove it and it asked to remove ubuntu-standard as well!
Apparently, Ubuntu still needs the ubuntu-standard metapa

I used apt-get autoremove and only got as far as the first 4 packages.
I had to remove the rest of the packages manually by looking for
'evolution' in Synaptic.

Basically, Gutenprint doesn't work as of the latest big update.
We can apparently set our printers up but jobs just clog up the queue
and are unable to prin
Even the PPD files that should work with Canon BJC-250 printers are
useless :(
Maybe Ubuntu devs should test the newest version of Gutenprint (5.1.3)

High Quality Gutenprint Driver (simple)
My test page begins to print but then STOPS after only a few linse of
printing. The 'Status' of the printer under 'Properties reads
"Printing: Gutenprint Printing page 1, 53%" and it doesn't sem

More like the postrm script for the compiz package(s) is either broken
or missing because metacity should be made to take over the wm duties
after compiz is removed.
The command:
metacity --replace
should probably be added to the postrm script if it isn't already.

I attempt the burn but it fails with a pop-up saying that the disk drive
