1. CPU usage by kwin_x11 is 0.0% and doesn't go up when I'm pressing Alt+Tab
or move the mouse pointer.
2. Alt+Shift+F12 does nothing.
3. There are no .lock files in ~/.cache/ (checked with "find | grep lock")

I get the same kind of freeze on my Lenovo B570e laptop (with Intel
graphics): I can move the mouse pointer easily but the screen contents
don't respond to it nor to pressing Alt+Tab.

This may be important: the current Plasma5 session was started before I
added my user account to the group "video", so my user account's
applications could not access /dev/dri/* or /dev/fb0. However the X
server runs as root.

After these seconds the mouse pointer shape freezes too, so I can only
move the mouse and see the pointer moving, but no other effects of this
motion.

Solution in comment #34 DOES NOT WORK for me.
And I noticed the following: during the first few seconds after the
screen freezes (may be around 3 to 10 seconds), when I move mouse
pointer it changes shape according to what it under it (for example, "I"
when hovering text).
Also, during these firs
KMail2 had similar bug #286692, it's already fixed.
