I'm using latest bios version 0506 "AMIBIOS American Megatrends"
I'm using latest kernel 2.
Now Ubuntu 8.04.1 LiveCD can load but it uses a too high resolution
(1440xsomething, I cannot check now sorry).
When I installed it, I can use it with opnchrome or vesa drivers, but
there are some problems:

- It takes a long while to load
- I can't change resolution when X is started: i
I can confirm this issue in my system after upgrading to intrepid alpha

I tested with Ubuntu 8.04 and it works. As I had some little problems
with 7.10 and this new computer (It was all fine with the old one), I'm
installing it right now; I'm willing to dual boot with a little
partition of 7.10 if it is of any help, though.
Oh, and I used the new Hardware Testing thin
Well indeed I am; I was planning this update, I just took it earlier
because I ran into this bug. Bug what about people who cannot/won't
update? Won't the bug be corrected?

I can confirm the bug, with both KDE 4.1 and 4.2.
Unfortunately, with KDE 4.2 the option "Download and display custom emoticons"
disappeared from the WLM plugin preferences. Hence, I do not have alternatives
now and I loose contents of a conversation every time a custom emoticon is used.
