I added some code that just reallocates a buffer periodically in
SwithingBundle (basically simulating a resize but without any size
changes) and it seems that introducing a new buffer is what causes the
nexus10 driver to hiccup.

Since we know that ignoring bpp clamping actually works (tehownt can
confirm), can intel consider a quirk based patch for this laptop model

I have an ASUS UX302LA which is essentially the same as the UX302LG
except without the NVIDIA gpu that exhibits the same issue - blank
screen on boot.

Ok so the issue is the ~Signal() is being called from withing the Signal
executor...so recursively acquiring the same lock.
An async execution of the code that ends up deleting the
PlayerImplentation solves that issue and avoids hangs in the unity8
autopilot tests.

Volume Up + Volume Down is what's implemented as that's the least
intrusive code change, since power turns on/off the screen (needs more
code changes to our unity-system-compositor).

player seems to behave ok).
I did find a possible race in USC, that had to do with the handling for
when a process dies (which removes all "display on" requests) and a

Yeah com.ubuntu.touch.system schema is the best place for it.
Unity8 shell proxying the value could come later and then we could
remove the IbBrightnessUscreenControl from indicator-power but that
looks a bit more involved.

Yes I can replicate this - you have to start the camera app right after
rebooting.
Attempting a workaround here: lp:~albaguirre/qtubuntu-
sensors/fix-1381105 prevents the freeze but the trust-store prompt is
never shown.
It looks like
