It only happens if there is an "icon" jumping to Unity's bar. It does

Thanks, Your instructions worked for me. My heavy system is back up and
running. It would have been great if the Ubuntu system could somehow
warn the users that a kernel panic might occur if you just stay yes to
the uninstall procedure of crda.

What is the XHC1 under /proc/acpi/wakeup ? Google seems to not find a
manual page for wakeup.
