I think I found a solution of this problem - when boot from USB or DVD you must
edit boot options & add this:
radeon.dpm=0
Now I can not install the produce, but by the end of the day I think I'll check.

Yes, this problem had appeared on my U270 too. Device '/dev/sdb'
disables randomly when i am trying to mount it or copy something on it.
It happened after updating from 2.6.xx to 3.xx kernel. There was no
problem in Ubuntu 11.04.
