I chatted to mvo about this and what happens is that there's a cron job
that scrapes the archive every 4 hours and populates
changelogs.ubuntu.com.
This can be made considerably more efficient if it uses the Launchpad API
instead, using a combination of:
Archive.ge
BTW, for future reference, it's best to change the bugtask target if you
can rather than marking it invalid and adding a new one. There's a bug
in Launchpad which means that invalid bug tasks still get email every
time the bug is updated.

It's a little better in lucid but not much. I turned off the vsync
option which helps the most, but Xorg is still taking far too much CPU
when the machine is basically idle. I've got a new more powerful laptop
(with an i5) so it's hard to directly compare, but Xorg is constantly
using ~2-3%. kw
Based on that I'd change the title of this bug, or perhaps make it
invalid? It's xserver-xorg-video-intel's performance that basically
sucks, I don't get this problem on a machine with an nvidia card.

A couple more data points for anyone looking at this:
1. I spoke to someone on #ubuntu-x who said that failsafe mode happens because
when X tries to start it already sees an X server running (I confirmed this by
looking in the X log).
2. I don't get any

Yup, according to upstream, the bug is due to a critical package left
out in the Ubuntu version. The fix for 3.6 is released, 3.7 is
committed.

Yes, in lucid with this device modeswitch seems to work. There is
another problem where it doesnt appear to be using correct dns but thats

I have followed hva's tutorial on the ubuntu wiki, but it doesn't seem
to change anything. The tablet was partly support without it, but the
same irritating bug still continues. I think it is also responsible for
crashing Gimp all the time when pressure
