The issue can also be worked around from the compiz side by configuring compiz to display POV-Ray windows without an alpha channel. This can be done through the "Window rules" plugin, which has a "No ARGB visuals" rule. Setting this to "class=Povray" will cause the POV-Ray preview windows to be rendered without transparency. More info: http://wiki.compiz.org/WindowMatching#Window_Rules
This is a bit more convenient because it's a one time setting and will save you the hassle of specifying the visual type every time you launch POV-Ray. As draimus said, apparently this bug has been fixed in current POV-Ray 3.7.0 builds, see http://bugs.gentoo.org/show_bug.cgi?id=155289 ** Bug watch added: Gentoo Bugzilla #155289 http://bugs.gentoo.org/show_bug.cgi?id=155289 -- Povray preview windows appear transparent https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/224889 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
