Thanks for catching this bug. I have tested both alternate and desktop
media for the 20070319.1 daily release and the problem does not occur:
1. Reboot from installation proceeds as expected
2. Shutdown from installed system shuts down the machine
3. Reboot from installed system reboots the machin

I purged the network-manager by altering the filesystem.squashfs on the
desktop installation media and removed the following file:

The CD integrity test passes. However, there seems to be a problem with
the hardware which is behaving abnormally slowly:
1. I tried the alternate CD in the laptop and the installation takes more than
8 hours.
2. I tried to boot off a USB CDROM drive, but the BIOS doesn't support booting

to Run Application, pressing the Run... button seems to refresh Gnome.
One of the side effects is that the battery applet disappears from the

screen blanks and then presents the password prompt of the user
