The CD integrity test passes. However, there seems to be a problem with
the hardware which is behaving abnormally slowly:

1. I tried the alternate CD in the laptop and the installation takes more than
8 hours.
2. I tried to boot off a USB CDROM drive, but the BIOS doesn't support booting
from such a device.
3. I tried installing from the network and it also takes more than 8 hours.

So, the problem doesn't seem to be with the media nor the CDROM drive.
Rather, the problem might be the CPU not scaling properly, the hard
drive being very slow, or something that seems hardware related.

Any suggestions?
