Thanks Manuel; unfortunately the generic kernel is not affected by this
bug, only the variants (aws, azure, realtime, etc), so we can't verify
with linux-generic.
I don't have permission to access the packages for the RT kernel in the

After upgrading the kernel to 6.11.0-17-generic, boot keeps failing.
I can boot once I switch to Linux 6.8.0-52-generic from GRUB.

I hit this too, and had to adapt the work-around to be slightly more
permissive, since `openvpn` actually needs to load multiple files, making it
look more like this:
sudo bash -c "echo '@{HOME}/Documents/canonical/vpn/* r,' >>
/etc/apparmor.d/local/openvpn"

See if this returns anything:
grep nouveau /etc/modprobe.d/* /lib/modprobe.d/*
If it does, that probably means configuration files were left behind from 390
packages that were removed on upgrade. You can get rid of those with:
sudo apt purge *390*
If grep doesn't return anything, see what happen
Thank you Mohammed for the nice and complete report.
And as always to Michal - the direct commit helps to pick it easily.
That seems doable at least for Noble - Plucky - earlier I'm not yet sure
if people would use or try to use these features without any report in

Thank you for reporting. reading the install logs, there are a _lot_ of
changes on the system, and no log on what failed in the postgresql
