Adding "intel_iommu=on iommu=pt" to the kernel parameters in grub made
the system find the disks again.
I'm unsure if/where/how this could be tackled so that others don't
stumble into the issue and have it fixed

/usr/bin/purge-old-kernels script installed by byobu today it's a simple
bypass to an apt autoremove which can uninstall other packages not
kernel related.
Please replace on that script the line:
sudo apt-get $@ autoremove
By this one:

@Dan, I though the alsa-utils of Oracular should be rebased on v1.2.12
and I don't know how it will happen.
Can you suggest what I should do? I think the correct way is to trigger
the sync? Or I should do it manually?

any update? i am still assuming that i tested the right kernel, can you
confirm that noble-proposed from archive.ubuntu is the kernel i was
supposed to test?
