Public bug reported: If I turn on remote desktop sharing on an Ubuntu 24.04 machine, and then use Remmina on a different Ubuntu desktop machine to connect and view/control the desktop, Remmina asks for a username and password, and a "domain". I have no idea what a "domain" is, and I have no way to find out; the remote desktop sharing settings on the "server" don't mention it, and leaving it blank on the "client" doesn't work.
I don't know if this is a problem in Remmina, in the remote desktop sharing settings, or in both, but it's certainly a problem because it makes remote desktop sharing unusable and it's very confusing. Either "domain" is important and it should be very clear which value to use, or it's not important and should not be asked for. (I'm sure it's important when connecting to a Windows machine with RDP, but that's not what I'm doing and therefore shouldn't affect what I'm doing.) (This problem can be circumvented by choosing to use "legacy VNC" mode for sharing, which works fine and can be connected to with Remmina with no problem. But if that's "legacy", then the more "modern" replacement should work as easily.)
