As the original author of the run-mailcap program, this hack to bypass
the check for shell meta-characters when called as "open" is DANGEROUS!
It allows the execution of arbitrary commands on a victim's computer
with a specially crafted filename if there is an mailcap entry with an
improperly quote
I'm getting the same error but with the recent kernel version 5.16.9,
and the workaround of renaming the .pnvm file does not work. I can see
from the dmesg log that it tries loading the -67.ucode firmware (which
gives the same timeout error reported by others; see below), and I've

The upstream process for stable tree updates is quite similar
in scope to the Ubuntu SRU process, e.g., each patch has to
demonstrably fix a bug, and each patch is vetted by upstream
by originating either directly
Applying the patches on top of git master makes things work.
So i wonder if we should just package the git snapshot. Or like apply
all patches from git master. Or like see which ones we need.
