It seems like something fails in the communication between Skanlite and
lower layers, since the text "Waiting for the scan to start" shows the
whole time the scanner is actually scanning. (As stated in the original
post, once it's done scanning the "Invalid argument" error appears.)

didnt happen: When we click the launcher icon the menu background that
displays the apps dont vanish when you reclick the launcher button to

Looks like these notebooks can have different models of touchpads (Elan,
Synatics, Alps). I did the same for SYNA2B60 (ELAN0634 left as it was)
and got a perfectly working touchapd (it has double finger scrolling for

For what it's worth, the only difference between Ubuntu and Pop
regarding Mutter is that we've removed the xrandr patching causing this
issue. We tested the most recent version of the patch in proposed for
Focal at this time, and the issue still occurs there. Given that it's an
experimental feature

Yes I manually installed the latest firmware from the link above.
Just extract the contents to /lib/firmware and override.
I also installed the latest kernel. (currently 5.8:
