I have a similar problem: When closing the laptop lid, it should lock
the screen. When opening the lid it shows the unlocked desktop for a
couple of seconds before showing the lockscreen. It is most likely
related to this bug.
Same versions for Ubuntu, lightdm, unity and gnome-screensaver. I do no
I do have the same card installed. According to Acer datasheet the
integrated WiFi card uses Wireless LAN Standard IEEE 802.11ac, which is
pretty new. Could it be, that the driver is not ready yet?.

I also used live image and after install of unity8-desktop-session-mir
and login to Unity 8 ended up with black screen.
Then I switched to TTY1 and restarted lightdm and when it restarted I
was on Unity 8 greeter. The session started but it was totally unusable.

When this happens switch to TTY1 (Ctrl+Alt+F1) and restart lightdm.
sudo systemctl restart lightdm
Unity 8 should start after this.
There is another bug reported about this issue. Either mark that other

Hi. I would prefer a backport to 14.04 if that's not to much trouble,
please. I have no plans to upgrade to 16.04 until at least 6 months
after it's released. Plus 14.04 is supposed to be supported for 5
years. Until this is fixed I have to boot into Windows or an older
ubuntu kernel to use the
