This whole telepathy/empathy system with it's dbus connections is
overcomplicated and broken by design. I still do not understand which
and how many compontents are involved and how to debug them.

Started mumble yesterday, first with pulseaudio but it didn't seem to
work for reason or another, so quit that instance (successfully) and
started another with "pasuspender mumble &". After using the program
chose "quit" from menu, but apparently it got in an infinite loop.

- Minimising windows go blank as soon as the button is clicked. (I have
slightly slower animations, so I can easily see this - it's pretty
gruesome).

Ok, eventually I found a fix for this, which should work for many Dell
machines (and this is important for remotely controlled machines as a
reboot would otherwise require a manual intervention or a power-cycle).
To fix it, I simply had to add the following kernel parameter to the

According to an internal workaround master list, we need to set bit 5
of register 9400 to avoid issues with color blits.
/var/log/syslog copied when dnsmasq was broken.
I have just tested kubuntu 11.10 iso on the same VM and it is all fine
(however 11.10 does not use dnsmasq).
Just to let you know - I amthe person who reported the bug and problem
with ISO test so this does not actually impact multiple people.

I have noticed similar issues with ALC892, please have a look at Bug
#975135. For me alsa-only (with pasuspender) seems to keep sound quality
ok, but that setup has issues mentioned at Bug #986774.
