I am not convinced that bugs such as
https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=604390 are a duplicate of
this one. I have never had a problem with the address bar or search bar.
I cannot always repeat it, but seems to happen more for some sites. Here
is what I do know:

It does affect me too. It crashes at converting flac to mp3.

How is this a matter for the upstart package? It's the cron package
that ships both the upstart job and the /etc/default/cron file; there's
nothing upstart can do here to fix how /etc/init/cron.conf is written.

In my case the problem turned out to be a missing couchdb group:
Setting up couchdb-bin (1.0.1-0ubuntu3~lucid1) ...
chown: invalid group: `couchdb:couchdb'
So to "fix" this, do something like this:
