As someone who is also having this problem, I can confirm that the
problem is definitely not just a display issue.
Two cases:
1) Play an audio file and suspend whilst playing. On resume, no audio will be
heard.
2) Try to ssh into the machine after resume. The machine will not be found on
the net

8274
and their count increases with time, no lid closing or suspend
happened..
but I let it to turn off the display.

for me has happend more or less the same for an amd64 architecture.
Not once in a while , but all the time.
I have Architecture: amd64 in the control file.
I can install it, but it's saying that it is not available for my
computer (so I can just ignore that comment).

monitor higher than 800x600 and could do nothing with my wifi card
either.

update: although I am using XLock screen locker, those zombies are
created automatically
possibly related to messages like this in /var/log/auth.log (are those zombies
over critical mass and multiplicating themselves??)

Anyone working on this? It first happened to me after restarting after
installing some updates. No clue what they were. I found a fix on the
net then and thought i had permanently fixed it. I have seen it 3 or 4
times since then. And now. If there are multiple users it is a pain.
