Yes, my system is up-to-date as well... I tried your bashrc (although the
differences are small anyway) and I still get perfectly normal completion for
cd. The .profile and the bash_completion file are identical to mine... That
leaves me rather clueless :-/

I have exactly the same issue. I have a static IP so I've been fixing
it by manually editing resolv.conf every morning when I boot my machine
at work. It's a small issue but it makes me question whether I upgraded
to 10.10 too soon.

I just tried a quick test to remove encrypted swap (I had set ecryptfs
to encrypt my original swap partition, and its now disabled at startup).
Running OpenOffice with unencrypted swap and files on encrypted home and
OOo still crashed as before.

I just installed Ubuntu Server 10.10 on a new machine last week. Changed
/etc/hdparam.conf and it seems to take effect (drives did spin down).
So did someone fix this?
I haven't tried my other installs of Kubuntu, Mythbuntu yet, so I can't

I am having ubuntu CD 10.10 Desktop edition and inserted the same in CD
Rom and opted Run Application. Whenever I entered the command (kdesudo
"sh /media/cdrom/cdromupgrade) and click the Run botton , the Run

causes the problem or at least makes it worse. Maybe it is related to
memory usage or network usage? I seem to get an error message related to

This bug affects me too. I have Ubuntu 10.04 (amd64) and also a Lexmark
T640 printer (connected through the network). The problems are not

I tested the old kernel 2.6.32 because of this bug

I have tried OSS4 !
Does not solve the problem at all !!!
1. XawTV and V4L doesn't work with OSS4 (I don't know why, I think
something is broken somewhere or an API change I don't know ...)
2. All Alsa Apps works like Crap with OSS4
3. Audacity don't work at all (OSS or ALSA mode)
