Frankly friends, this bug began as impacting those who have Pioneer

Reading the report at https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-
panel/+bug/17787 might give a clue to the source of the problem. The
real culprit seems to be the transparency of the panel. The panel with
the wnck-applet needs to have both auto-hide and transparency enabled

absolutely reproduceable. I have 8GB RAM, and evolution eats it away
within under 5 minutes
on my system Evolution starts with ~1GB virtual space, 71M RES, and in
seconds increases virtual to 8.5GB and RES to 800M
after kill -15 and restart, evolution requests around 4GB Virtual mem,

using 10.04. it was only when I updated to 10.10 that the freezes

The problem still persists only for firefox as far as i can see in
maverik latest upgrades. Other softwares like chromium or gnome-terminal
has not this issue. After the restart while opening firefox i get the
default ugly gtk theme and i won't get the ubuntu one until reboot.
