the msn accounts problem still happens. With msn/hotmail when clicking in
"open mail" pidgin (or ubuntu) opens firefox when opera (or other) is selected

Hi,
I applied your workaround. After started the my firefox with command "firefox
-ProfileManager" this is have worked fine.
Moreover now my firefox works fine.
I didn't need to disable all extensions to fix the bug but only start
firfox with e re-creation profile.

Yep, a rebuild should be done. Additionally, there is bug #423048
preventing ooo-voikko from being installed automatically in karmic, and
bug #414753 about ooo-help-fi (new in karmic) being not installed
automatically either.
These would be nice to get escalated... this bug seems to be subscribed
adding this file cures my problem. I know it inappropriate, but hey I

I just tried (mode: "Install Ubuntu"; language: English; location: New
York; keyboard layout: Spanish; keyboard variant: Asturian) and can't
reproduce this. The keyboard is properly Asturian after reboot.
Can you give more details about exactly what you did? Please also attach
/var/log/installer/s
