I am experiencing the same issue on a newly-upgraded Feisty box (kernel
2.6.20-16-generic). The hardware is the HPT302N PCI PATA interface card.
The driver loaded fine under Edgy. The bug only occurs when a disk is
attached to the card.

happens sometimes, don't worry about it. If it's not reproducable in a

kernel panic. I can load kvm without trouble, but no kvm-amd.

I can now confirm that it is working fine with the current gutsy kernel

Hey folks. this bug is a symptom of a problem that is way higher up the
Debian food chain. the fix for this needs to come from the Debian
distro folks.
If 7.04 does not work for you stick with 6.10, it's stable and it
works. I have no idea whether or not this issue will be fixed by 7.10.

I am dual booting feisty fawn 7.04 and windows vista home premium. I
receive the bios bug error only while booting into ubuntu feisty fawn.
I can boot into both operating systems no problem but I want to know
what that bios bug error is. I didn't have this error while using

This happens pretty reliably with Feisty when my IBM T60p is running in
its dock, then suspended (to RAM), and then resumed. It doesn't happen
when undocked.
I keep the following plugged into the dock: an external keyboard, two
monitors, an ethernet cable, and an HP Laserjet

This syslog shows the suspend as well as the resume. It's worth noting
that e1000 never comes back automatically for me (whether docked or
undocked). I always have to do a "rmmod e1000; modprobe e1000" after
resume is complete.

I can confirm this bug reported by Norbert. I didn't experience any problems
under breezy/dapper/edgy, only after upgrading to feisty the trouble with the
wlan card began, in particular (not to say only) in combination with heavy
network load (torrent, mule, etc.)
