Someone marked "my" bug 63301 a duplicate of this one. However, I am not

I just tried Xubuntu live cd in case there was an out of memory
situation and booted it with the same kernel and the video=ofonly
parameter. Both 'startx' and 'startxfce' yields the same SIGSEGV fault
in the Rage 128 driver related to the mmio call.

I can choose Victoria using both choices and the info seems fine but i

1. There seems to be missing entry in /etc/udev/rules.d/40-permissions.rules.
Hotpluggable devices seems to have group set to plugdev, so I think there
should be line like this (like one for usb devices):

I have done an install in _English_, run the "Language Support" for Japanese,
which installs fine and set keyboard to Japanese.
However, I cannot input Japanese characters in any programs
I have also tried to play around with Scim and Skim, but this still has
no effect

yes - confirmed too same things happened
but it looks like showfoto is in digikamimageplugins

but i can't find it anywhere after install... and it looks like it opens
when you are in digikam, but not as a stand-alone

Are there bugs filed for the ICH8 problem Ante says is known and the bug
that Ben filed about the JMicron patch not showing up in certain
releases? I've spent some time searching for them both but without any
luck. If those are the bugs tha

Furthermore, there is a upstream patch to fix that. It's not commited
yet because we don't want to depend on GTK+ 2.10 for the moment but as
it's shipped in Edgy maybe we could include it.
