I have done an install in _English_, run the "Language Support" for Japanese, which installs fine and set keyboard to Japanese. However, I cannot input Japanese characters in any programs I have also tried to play around with Scim and Skim, but this still has no effect
I am using Kubuntu Edgy Beta 1, on a Japanese IBM Thinkpad x32 One funny thing - If you install the entire system in Japanese and then run language support, japanese input works.
