use is Realtek, while the unused one is a NVidia. Booted the server

Based on the backtrace, it looks like libc called "abort" during a

I think the problem is the wirelss drivers workaround patch, this patch
sends -Dndiswrapper when it detects ndiswrapper rather than -Dwext.
This is because the older versions of NDISWrapper did not support the
latest wireless extensions.
I /think/ ndiswrapper > 1.18 (edgy ships with 1.22) support
Mathew Garreth just looked at the problem and thinks this might be a
udev problem.
We blacklisted ath_pci and now thinks work fine. We added ath_pci to
/etc/modules and that works around the issue:-)

Nothing new appears in my kern.log when this happens. :-( There is
nothing in my kern.log about NFS at all. The only thing in there
regarding any filesystem activity it loads of:

I can confirm this problem.
I use LDAP authorization with ccreds and when I don't have local account
(/etc/passwd+/etc/shadow) I can't login from screensaver.
The same configuration works great for sudo/gdm/ssh/

Creating sofficerc with those settings didn't have any effect.
The only packages I've ever had installed are the Ubuntu ones.
Reinstalling all the openoffice.org-* packages I've got made no
difference.
