creates one on install (confirmed in practice) and from the postinst

I also suffer from this bug. It persists into 2.6.15-26.
Not only does 'noapic' make the mouse sluggish, it misses keys if I type
at full speed. This is unusably bad.

When i update to the latest kernel from kernel.org this problem goes away.
However some other things brake so i went back to the stock Dapper
kernel..and still have this problem.
The first key press simply isn't registered, and if it is registered
it's not displayed in the text box.

Can you explain a little bit why Ubuntu has to assume so? I thought it
would be just a simple "mkdir -p /var/run" after mounting "/" and before
mounting "/var".
I find the need to fix it because such a simple missing directory can
cause a lot of problems, yet it isn't very easy to be fixed

After I got the charge down to fifty percent, the situation remained the

openssl currently isn't modified by Ubuntu and it would cause extra
overhead to do so for a single comma. Please file this bug upstram or
with debian so the package can remain unmodified from Debian.
