Maybe it's an X bug which is triggered by GTK/gnome apps (for example my
/tmp/console.log file contains something which when rendered for the
display)? Just because at least epiphany and gedit can triggers it, and
KDE, gnome, icewm does not matter (so it does not look like a gnome-
session problem
Just tried with both of KDE and icewm session selected at GDM, gedit
/tmp/console.log from terminal window result in crash again, returning
to GDM. I've tried to strace gedit but I can't see any usefull
information. But I've attached the file maybe it helps.

Having discussed this a little further, I am beginning to suspect that
the cause of this problem MAY be installing Breezy, and then changing
your NIC. I no longer have a breezy box handy to check, and rather than
have to build one, I thought I'd ask the other people watching this bug

As stated in the first comment, downgrading works. This _is_ a
regression with ubuntu4. I have no idea if they are compiled with
diffrent gccs though. We need to ask the buildds that question :-).

No, I don't. The issue stoppped being an issue by a later update before
the stable release. But I haven't tried anything in the release, since I
choose swedish as layout when installing from the live cd, which worked
without a hitch!

That behaviour is probably a window manager one. Why do you consider
that as a bug? Just unpress ctrl and alt if you want to stop it
