The firmware tiacx111c16 in directories 1.2.0.30 and 1.2.1.34 work. But not the
one in 2.3.1.31.

I tried to install Edgy on the same computer 3 days ago with the current edy CD
image and I got the same problem.
I don't understand why the Debian installer are working on this machine and the

Same for me. Vaio VGN-S560P.
Fn keys work now since Bug #39820 seems to be resolved after some
communication with the maintainer of smartdimmer (eventhough bug was not
marked as resolved).
But the display is neither dimmed by the gnome-power-manager nor by
kpowersave which I installed later.
