Can confirm this on a IBM Thinkpad X41 (not tablet). After hibernate,

I can confirm this bug on a Thinpad T30.
Sound works after cold start.
Sound stops working after (warm) reboot and after resuming from hibernation.
Sound is working again after resuming from suspend.
This problem definitely appeared only after I upgraded from 6.10 to
7.04. To make it really clear
My z61p with latest BIOS have the same problem.

I can confirm the sound not working after resuming from hibernation on
the T41. I can also add that there may be some related power management
issues. Before a hibernation (when sound works), setting PM to "do
nothing" or "blank screen" upon lid closing results in the screen not
coming back after
I have a Benq S52 with Conexant Cx20551 which has the same issue. No
sound after hibernate but if I then suspend/resume the sound will work.
Hibernate did work under edgy, after i patched alsa but that was a fix
for the chipset not related to hibernation.

if it helps,
this laptop is also affected from the bug #88546 (headphones jack doesn't
mute speakers) and of curse #94566 which were solved by a kernel patch (which i
have not tested yet)...
i can say that the touch-pad blocker button and next-prev-pay/pause buttons
neither works
i can confirm this bug, but in another laptop, a hewlett packard dv2225la
logs atached as requested
