This is problem of driver or firmware or hardware device. I have TL-
WN722N and have same terrible experience. I used it as AP on debian 6.
After problem tried latest hostapd and latest compat-wireless(self
compiled) but no luck. Looks like tplink have problem with wifi devices
because their router
