Does the fix go to Debian as well as Ubuntu? I mention this as the
Debian freeze for the next release is in about 2 weeks so it would be
good to get a new package in sooner rather than later.

I installed the ppa version (sudo add-apt-repository ppa:me-tv-development/ppa).
It works for me.
If you want to launch it on a terminal, the command became "me-tv-client"
instead of "me-tv".
The main problem I found with this version is you can't change the channels'
order.
But it can be a tempo

I can confirm that lp:me-tv when compiled works fine as long as you
delete ~/.local/share/me-tv/me-tv.db first and recreate all the channel
information. I am having a small difficulty with the fact that the
channel list generated during GNOME DVB setup appears not to be a well-
formed XML document
I found the problem. I'll fix it in version 1.3.7 as soon as I have
time.
This bug is probably fix (need testing) in version 1.4.0 from PPA
