I started with removing the following packages: liblzo2-2 uswsusp
I downloaded the mainline kernel packages from here:
http://kernel.ubuntu.com/~kernel-ppa/mainline/v3.4-precise/
Installed the following three packages:
linux-headers-3.4.0-030400_3.4.0-030400.

I have used uswsusp instead of the hibernation integrated into the kernel in
the last two months daily.
It is very reliable. There is no error, it always recovers from hibernation.
This is just an FYI for other people with the same problem.
