I don't think this is fixed in 12.04.
I have an asus G73Sw and when I tried the Live CD, headphones didn't work.
When I upgraded from 11.10 (where everthing was working fine) I could not get
it work by fooling around with the sound control under preferences. but it
would not persist across a reb

think the odds would be of the kernel team taking it? I don't have the
affected hardware here.
