I don't think this is fixed in 12.04. I have an asus G73Sw and when I tried the Live CD, headphones didn't work. When I upgraded from 11.10 (where everthing was working fine) I could not get it work by fooling around with the sound control under preferences. but it would not persist across a reboot. Since then I've performed a fresh install and I can only get my onboard speakers to work. And no headphone output at all when I plug the head phone jack in, even though sound control acknowledges that the headphones are plugged in.
I'm thinking about filing a big against 12.04 but wanted to do my research first. It is annoying as my external speakers are driven via my headphones jack. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/857206 Title: (Realek alc887-vd) Speaker and headphones get the same dac To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/857206/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
