On my system, the prompt box says "Run a command" but it won't act on enter. This seems to be related to Bug #872219, as it only happens when the Apps lens is missing. When the Apps lens is present, it will allow a command, even if it's not an application found in the search. -- You received this

I've installed Oneiric yesterday, and I too have a problem with Alt+F2 (run a command). What I've noticed is sometimes when I press Alt+F2 and Dash prompt pops up at the top, it says 'Search' in the input textbox, other times it says 'Run a command' (and when this happens it actually runs the comma

Seems to work okay here. I do notice that if I type 'gnome-term' for example then 'gnome-terminal' is suggested, but if i type the whole thing it disappears. This doesn't happen for other things (update- manager, gnome-control-center), so might be a seperate bug. If i hit enter it launches though.
