I've installed Oneiric yesterday, and I too have a problem with Alt+F2 (run a command). What I've noticed is sometimes when I press Alt+F2 and Dash prompt pops up at the top, it says 'Search' in the input textbox, other times it says 'Run a command' (and when this happens it actually runs the command I type in).
It seems you can get the 'Run a command' like this: - press Alt+F2 - if the 'Run a command' prompt appears, then everything is fine, just type the command and it will run - if 'Search' appears, click on the 'Search Application' button at the bottom (second button after the 'Home' icon) - press ESC - press Alt+F2 again, now 'Run a command' will appear, type in the command and that's it -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/842456 Title: Alt-F2 "Run a command" doesn't actually run the command To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/unity/+bug/842456/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
