Ok, I scratched one CD to test this issue and NOT i can't reproduce it on my
system.

Here you can see screen shot, with errors about files can't be read and ata
errors... but nothing of it blocked my system or cdrom.
So better way to begin is debug on your hardware.

It is nice that you want to help triaging bugs but randomly closing bug
reports without even considering them is just pointless. Have you tried
to reproduce it? It is very easy. Find a CD with some errors (or just
scratch it a bit yourself). Then try to copy the CD into your hard
