Ok, I can reliably reproduce this on my desktop:
- open gnome-terminal and move it close to the left border, verify that the
launcher opens normally on top of it
- open firefox (old session with multiple windows), and see that the launcher
still opens on top of the other windows
- click on the t
still the same with current oneiric.

Yes, both the panel and the launcher. Maybe it happens after the screen
has once gone through screensaver, but not sure. For instance this
running session is 1,5h old, and it happened again. I was gone for maybe
an hour.

Can you do the usual 'apport-collect 806396' for this bug please? When
you say the task panel I assume you mean the Launcher as well (the one
that pops in and out). If you get any more info about how to reproduce
this then also please add it to the bug.
